Sources of Financial Aid

An American Baptist College financial aid award may include Federal Pell Grants, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (SEOG), State Grants (Tennessee Student Assistance Award), Federal Direct Loans, Federal Work Study, and Federal Direct PLUS Loans. Detailed information on these financial aid programs may be found in the Student Guide, an annual publication of the U.S. Department of Education.

Financial assistance is primarily awarded according to the student's needs. Packages are designed to maximize gift aid (grants and scholarships) to the student. Financial need not met by gift aid may be met with loan assistance at the student's request. ABC endeavors to assist as many students as possible; therefore, full need will not be met with federal student aid for most students. NO student will receive need based financial aid in excess of financial need as defined by federal regulations. An appropriate standardized budget and each student's resources are used to determine financial need with consideration given for unique circumstances. Where appropriate, parents are expected to be the primary resource for helping students to meet educational expenses. The student is also expected to contribute toward the cost of education. Financial assistance is used as a supplement to these resources.

The Cost Estimate provides estimated net price information (defined as estimated cost of attendance — including tuition and required fees, books and supplies, room and board (meals), and other related expenses — minus estimated grant and scholarship aid) to current and prospective students and their families based on what similar students paid in a previous year. Using the estimator is quick and easy! After entering the required information, the Net Price Calculator will give you an estimate of your total price of attending American Baptist College that includes:
