ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The College selects for admission those applicants who seem best qualified to benefit from the educational opportunities that it offers. The admissions committee and the Academic Dean do not admit an applicant to the College on the basis of a single criterion, but on all of his or her qualifications taken as a whole.
There are three degree programs and one certificate program in the curriculum structure of the College (See Programs of Study). An applicant for admission should indicate on the application form the program for which he or she is applying after reading the entrance requirements given below.
In the information that follows, a distinction is made between the two kinds of programs. Only those applicants who are fully qualified educationally will be admitted to the degree programs. However, applicants who have less than satisfactory educational qualifications but who qualify on all other points will be admitted to the non-degree program leading to the Certificate in Bible.
SECONDARY SCHOOL PREPARATION
An applicant for either of the degree programs must have graduated from an approved high school or present an equivalency certificate from having passed the General Education Development (GED) Tests: high school level.
The following distribution of high school subjects is recommended for all applicants for the degree programs:
PRE-ADMISSION TESTING
Although not required for admission, the College encourages that all prospective students take the SAT or ACT. It will be used to determine academic strengths and weaknesses. These scores are also used to determine eligibility for state grants and scholarships.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
While past scholastic performance are important criteria in admitting applicants to the College, other important factors enter into the consideration of the admissions committee. Character, health, seriousness of purpose, breadth of interests, and achievements of the applicant are considered.
Whenever possible, it is advisable for an applicant to visit the College and talk with one of the administrative officials. In this way, he or she makes himself or herself known to those who are considering the application. The candidate must submit a brief well-written autobiography of himself or herself providing pertinent information on the following:
All
applicants for admission are expected to share the spiritual objectives of the
College and willingly subscribe to the social and moral regulations set forth
in the Student Handbook.
