Our Curriculum integrates the disciplines of pastoral counseling, psychological and clinical methodology, with special attention given the intersection of social justice, and care for marginalized persons and communities. This professional program attends to the convergence of spirituality and theology and their implications for the practice of counseling and psychotherapy from holistic and clinical perspectives.

Tracks within the Master of Pastoral Studies Degree Program

General Pastoral Counseling

  • A two-year, 63 credit program.
  • Persons are prepared for ministries that require advanced competencies in pastoral counseling.

Clinical Counseling

  • Meets all the general degree requirements and mandates extensive practicum and clinical experiences based on standards set by the State of Tennessee.
  • This aspect is especially vital for those who will seek to become Licensed Clinical Pastoral Therapists (LCPT) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT) in the State of Tennessee.

We also extend to our community the flexibility of Online, Hybrid, and Certificate programs that are academically rigorous, interdisciplinary, and engaging to meet the needs of diverse and global communities.
